I was running a few errands at lunch recently when the Birra Deli sign caught my eye. The "specialty beers" part was too much to pass up, so I stopped in to investigate. To my surprise, I was greeted by a small deli with 5 well stocked coolers full of craft beer. A respectable selection with a wide variety of styles. Highlights included: Deschutes Black Butte XXI, Hopworks Ace of Spades and Secession, Heater Allen, Rochefort, Ommegang, etc....They even have a beer list on their website.
They also had six beers on draft. Again, I was very suprised and impressed with the selection. Draft highlights included Russian River Damnation, Deschutes Jubel 2010, and Widmer Prickly Pear Braggot. Not your average suburban deli taplist here. Very nice.
The bottles are well priced, especially for on-site enjoyment. It seemed there was very little mark up. In addition, they offer 10% discount on bottles to go, 15% on six packs (I assume mix and match since they didn't have actual six packs). A great deal.
So, if you ever find yourself stuck in Tualatin or if you are reading this in Tualatin, head on over to Birra Deli for a pint or bottle. Now I just need an excuse for an evening meeting....
