Brewpublic Killer Beer Week 2011

Killer Beer Week sponsored by BREWPUBLIC is happening now.  Angelo De Ieso II starts preparing months in advance to bring you rare beers from around the Northwest.  Each day brings a new feature of region or style.  Besides the beers, this week is a chance to check out most of the area’s craft beer bars and bottle shops. It is a week to honor the people that make Portland the greatest beer city on the planet. The week started last night at Roscoe’s for Killer Beer Summit and will continue this evening with Killer Pumpkin beers at The Green Dragon.

My favorite nights from last year and the must attend for this year are Killer Beers of Central Oregon and Killer Beers of Washington.  Beers from, “Bend and Beyond,” will be at the Beer Mongers on Wednesday.  I can’t get my hands on enough beer from Bend, including Bend Brewing Co, 10 Barrel and many others.  By The Bottle in Vancouver will host beers from Washington that are not available in Oregon.  Snipes Mountain anyone?

The purpose of Killer Beer Week is to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of BREWPUBLIC.  In the past few years, Angelo and Co-Founder Aaron Miles have provided us with a guide to craft beer in the area.  BREWPUBLIC has several great contributors and when you see them this week, make sure to thank them for their work.  When you see Angelo, ask for an autograph and thank him for his promotion of craft beer in and around Oregon.

The big parties are on Friday at Saraveza and Saturday at Bailey"s.

I love this interview from last year, conducted by Jeff Alworth on Brewpublic's Second Anniversary.
